Uber or Lyft, Which Rideshare App is Better?

Uber vs Lyft: Using The Apps

Both Rideshare apps are user-friendly and functional. You get to see when your driver will arrive at your pickup location and give them a rating after the trip. Uber and Lyft also offer a smartwatch-ready app for both Android and Apple/iOS users. There’s not much difference, except for the fare estimate and interface

Uber Pros:

  • Uber lets their riders know how much their trip costs after they add their location and destination. This is one of Uber’s best features because riders already know what to expect and even have an idea how much to shell out for a trip.
  • In terms of interface, Uber looks more sleek, modern and formal.

Uber Cons:

  • Uber’s surge pricing is sometimes higher than what your ride usually costs.

Lyft Pros:

  • Lyft gives out a fun and hip vibe. This makes sense because most users are ‘yuppies’ or young professionals.
  • Whenever a rider tips well, fireworks appear on the app.

Both apps require the rider to rate their experience and ask for feedback. Uber’s is notable because if you give your driver a 5-star rating, you get to give him a compliment and write a thank you note to recognize the driver’s exceptional service.
